Here is this weeks chocolate bar challenge!
Extravagant Ellie and Thrifty Tanya each have bank accounts. Ellie has $500 and Tanya has $200. Ellie withdraws $15 each weekend while Tanya deposits $12. At the end of 13 weeks, what is the difference in their bank accounts? Solve this algebraically. Can you find a week when there is only a $3 difference? Hint: It is before the 13th week.

Chocolate Bar Challenge
Ever Heard of Happy Numbers??
This Chocolate Bar Challenge is tricky maths problem. Be the first to prove that 383 is a happy number. When I say prove that doesn't mean find it on a website but rather use your working to prove it. for example:
7 is a happy number because:
- 72 = 49
- 42 + 92 = 97
- 92 + 72 = 130
- 12 + 32 + 02 = 10
- 12 + 02 = 1.

Remember you don't need to be in the 8gigs to be a winner.

Term 2 Homework
This Term we have been looking at locations in NZ and the world. As part of the homework challenge the 8gigs were given the challenge of planning a trip around New Zealand that can be completed within 2 weeks. They had to plan costs, time, accommodation, routes, and activities.
Emma is the first student to submit their work. She has done an excellent job which sets a high standard for the other students.
