Palmerston North 3D Model

For inquiry we had to make the square, Palmerston North, using 3D models for the buildings.
We had to have certain skills to complete this task
- make 3D nets
- scale
- building 3D shapes
- measurement
symmetry
- tabs
We also had to make sure that 1 story was 2cm high and a 2 story 4cm high.
These are some photos of how it turned out:

Geometry

In Class we have been working on Geometry. We have had several rich tasks that involve a variety of mathematical concepts to complete.

One of the tasks was making a 3D model of Ross Intermediate using Google Sketchup

The concepts we needed to understand were:

- Scale
- Properties of 3D shapes
- How to build 3D shapes
- How to use Google Sketchup
- How to visualise the different perspectives of 3D shapes
- How to accurately estimate lengths

Here is a walk through of Oliver's Model of Ross Intermediate
